1/5 Kelly's Preschool Style Care

Bell Street and Barton Street Carte

We are a home daycare providing preschool style care. We have morning or afternoon classes 2,3 or 5 days a wk. We also offer FT care. Our ratios are low 1/5 or 2/5. Our programming is designed to help in the integration to JK. It gives your child the opportunity to come based on your or your child’s needs. Perhaps he or she will start out in our 2 day a week program and then work their way up to the 5 day program. Our class size is smaller than your typical preschool as we have a maximum of 5 kids under 10 in our center at one time. So our ratio is low! 1/5 but often we have a ratio of 2/5 or even 3/5! We also offer a program for responsible high school or college students looking for volunteer hours to come help with the program. All of this helps prepare you little one for the big step of JK! kellyspreschool.webs.com

I am a mom of a 1 year old and 3 year old boys. I have a university degree in Accounting and was working in a professional environment until my first son was born. I never knew how much I love being around "little people" until I became a mom. I am running my home daycare for over 2 years now. I'm one of those moms who keeps checking on the kids every ten minutes while they are napping thinking what if the monitor is not working properly! I truly care for each and every child that comes here as much as I do that for my sons. I provide breakfast, lunch and two snacks (mostly home cooked). Weather permitting, we have a good balance of indoor and outdoor play time. I consider myself creative. We do occasional pizza days, picnic lunches, movie day, dress up day, face painting, and other age appropriate activities. I will try my best to be flexible on my schedule for you. As a family childcare provider, my goal is to provide a safe and happy place for children. A place to learn and grow physically, emotionally, intellectually, and socially at their own pace. I believe that children learn through play and benefit from a structured yet flexible environment. Activities will be offered which stimulate sensory, motor development, language development, and social interaction. The development of strong self esteem is also a major goal. Children will be taught to respect each other, adults, and property. The name Helping Hands also play a vital role in my philosophy.
